On January 28, 2020, at the end of the mandate of Mother Inès Gravier, the community elected as its abbess **Mother **María Esther Mares Silvafor a definite term. Mother María Esther was born in 1958 in México, D.F. (Mexico). She entered El Encuentro in 1993 and made her solemn profession in 1999. At the time of her election, she was prioress of the community.
