OriginsFounded by Gethsemani in 1955, and raised to the rank of abbey 1959.
History
- 1955: Purchase of the property of Vina, a beautiful piece of around 236 hectares of very rich land, where one could easily harvest 6 or 7 crops of hay each year, and where many varieties of fruit tree are grown. Gethsemani sent a group of 12 choir monks and 14 laybrothers, who left the motherhouse on 29 June 1955 and arrived at Vina on 2 July. The house was named New Clairvaux.
- 1970, 28 November: Fire destroys a large part of the monastery.
