History
- 1831: Founded by O.L. of Gard.
- 1836: The monastery of Sint Sixtus comes under the jurisdiction of the abbot Westmalle, at the request of Mgr. Corselis, delegatus ac visitator apostolicus.
- 1843: During the transfer of the cemetery, the body of the first prior, Dom Franciscus-Maris (d. 1836) is exhumed and found to be intact.
- 1857: Between 1857 and 1862, 8 priests and 10 brothers are sent to the monastery of O.L. of Petit Clairvaux in Tracadie, Nova Scotia (Canada) to save the community.
- 1879, 24 June: Consecration of the abbatial church and the high altar.
