OriginsFoundedby Fr. Abraham Ojefua 1970; incorporated in the OCSO 2 July 1978; raised to the status of priory 21 November 1981; raised to the status of abbey 15 February 2006.
History
- 1970: This was a spontaneous foundation made by Fr Abraham Ojefua with the active help and approval of bishop Okoye of Enugu diocese in May, 1970.
- 1971: Fr Abraham contacts the general chapter to inform it of his desire to be affiliated.
- 1974: An official application is made for acceptance into the Order and the chapter appoints Genesee to pursue its development and consider being mother-house.
- 1977: Accepted into the Order.
