OriginesFounded by Désert (1903-1908): raised to the rank of priory in 1920 and to the rank of abbey in 1926
Histoire
- 1903: Founded by Désert, erected canonically in 1908, but the first prior was not elected until 1920.
- 1927: The General Chapter authorized the foundation of Huerta (Soria).
- 1936: During the Civil War, the community was imprisoned, the monastery left abandoned and partially pillaged. 17 monks died, 14 of whom can be considered martyrs. The abbot Dom Emmanuel Fleche was also imprisoned, but released at the request of the French government. After a few months’ interruption, regular life resumed.
- 1951: restoration of the church on the feast of Christ the King, 29 October.
- 1954: Viaceli accepts in principle the restoration of monastic life at Sobrado. Fr. Cid oversaw the restoration of Sobrado carried out by the Spanish government.
