OrígenesThe pioneers of Mount St. Bernard Abbey were all professed religious, English or Irish, of Melleray. Some came directly from France whilst others had spent a short time in Ireland. Melleray regarded this abbey as its first daughter house and made the regular visitations of Mount St. Bernard until the transfer of paternity in 1858.
